Most rolling element bearings operate on a very thin film of lubricant, which when chosen correctly, reduces friction, prevents corrosion, disperses excess heat and prevents early bearing wear.

A clean room facility is a room that has specialist filtration to remove particles from the air reducing risk of contamination of parts within. Cleanrooms are used where very high levels of cleanliness and sterility are key, common examples being the medical, pharmaceutical and other high tech industries.

Our ISO7 Standard clean room (which must have less than 352,000 particles >0.5 micron per cubic metre, where a typical office room is 500-1000 times dirtier) was purpose built to effectively provide a wash, relubricate and refresh service to customers whose:

• Original lubricant is not suitable for the application
• Bearings have been subjected to temperature or humidity conditions outside of recommended temperature range
• Bearings have become contaminated
• Original packaging has become damaged
• Unsure of the lubricant’s expiration date
• Question the quality, condition, or type of lubricant in the bearings
• Bearing lubrication appears to have separated, discolored, or otherwise changed appearance

A typical example would be an airframe bearing, used in rocker applications, where a high temperature, low noise grease is preferred.
